If writing is a concert of character, plot, and setting, Karina Fabian has yet to hit a clinker. In "Perfect Ten," her composition is perfectly in time and tune as usual. Once more, she allows her readers to enter the world of Dragoneye, P.I. with the date from heck.The common wisdom is the men are from Mars and women are from Venus, but for insurance actuary Sheila Mars, her "perfect 10" hails from somewhere a bit farther off the beaten path. In an effort at spontaneity, she finds herself dogged by a potential lover who is out to howl. In the end, it takes the Las Vegas police, a Native American nation, and a magic-slinging nun from out of this world to put the collar on her date. After reading this tale, one realizes not only is it very good Chic Lit, it's also great Guy Lit, and is safe to leave out where the kids can get their hands on it (providing, of course, you got to finish it first before it disappears down their hobbit hole). The only question remaining is whether Sheila will be in need of a bit of the hair of the dog the next morning.

This is such a wickedly fun read with so many twists and turns I felt like I was riding on an out-of-control amusement park ride...like the Scrambler!
Somehow the world of Fairy, dragon, and other mythical-magical creatures are now walking among us...no longer hiding...no longer running for cover...participating...in their own unique fashion.
Karina L. Fabian gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "BE SPONTANEOUS!"
PERFECT TEN...loved this playful, convoluted romp...
A fun short story! I love Karina Fabian's stories, and she works just as well in short form as at novel-length. This is a bit of a romp but there are plenty of smiles and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. This story fits in with the Vern universe, but you don't have to be familiar with that universe in order to understand the story.
I was told by a fellow author(Karina herself) it was a bad date novel and she was right(Of course) I just read what she said that she loved putting in all the characteristics of a canine in the book. What the bad date reminds me of his a character from the mini series the 10th Kingdom. If I remember right, he had a same type of interest in a "mundane" as Kyle did in Sheila.
